ALISON CROWLEY

Alison is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500). Since 2007, she has specialized in working with people living with cancer.

Alison co-created, developed, and teaches the yoga therapy programs for Cedars-Sinai/Tower Hematology Oncology, Cedars-Sinai/Brandman Breast Center, Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute/Cedars-Sinai, Tower Cancer Research Foundation, and Center for Radiation Therapy of Beverly Hills/Vantage Oncology.  She has also taught yoga therapy workshops at USC-Norris.

She completed her first teacher certification in Los Angeles at the Center for Yoga in 2001 and has taught and managed at some of LA’s most recognized studios. Alison was in the first graduating class of Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Therapy Rx Program (in 2005) under the direction of Larry Payne, Ph.D.  She is also certified through Jnani Chapman’s (RN) Yoga Therapy for Cancer and Chronic Illness Program. Alison leads teacher trainings for yoga therapists interested in teaching in the cancer community. In 2019, Alison received a special recognition award from the Health & Safety Commission of Beverly Hills, CA for her efforts in enhancing the lives of people with cancer.

Originally from NYC, she holds a BA from Connecticut College. Alison was inspired to become a yoga therapist by her mother’s chronic illnesses and dedicates her work to her memory, Meribah Cloud Crowley.  She lives in Los Angeles, CA with her husband Jerry and their little dogs Freddie and Vivien.  She thanks her family, friends, teachers, and is especially grateful to her students, who teach her so much about resilience, compassion, and kindness every single day.
